Well, I have been deep in thought lately and wanted to share this little story with you. "There was an Eagle living in the barnyard with all the chickens. They would just walk around all day and peck the ground. The farmer came to the Eagle and said "Eagle you are not supposed to be here pecking with the chicken, you are meant to soar high in the air and the farmer put the Eagle up on a tall fence post and said "soar Eagle, spread you wings and fly" but the Eagle just hopped down and started pecking with the chickens again. So the next day the Farmer came out to the barnyard and there was that Eagle pecking the ground with the chickens. The farmer said again"Eagle you are not supposed to peck the ground you are meant to fly high in the sky and soar" So the Farmer took the eagle to the very top of the multi story barn and set him on the roof and said fly Eagle fly and the eagle spread his wing and just went down to the chickens and started pecking the ground. The Farmer was getting very frustrated so he got up really early one morning and went and got the Eagle and walk up the mountain. It was a long hard hike but they made it to the top. The Farmer was exhausted and said to the Eagle "fly Eagle fly...soar like the other Eagles." It was then and only then the Eagle looked up high into the sky and saw the beautiful blue sky and all the tall green trees and could smell the fresh air and he jumped off the cliff and he flew and he soared and it was a beautiful sight"
The moral of this story is don"t get stuck with your nose in the dirt and look up and remember who you really are. God intended you to soar and fly high and succeed in this life. So keep your head up, look everyone in the eyes and smile, spread your wings and fly high. Never ever forget who you are and what your potential is and what we are expected to do with it.
Thanks, Dad. This is one of my favorite stories!
